There must be something creative in the air....I have managed to paint a Bewitched sign, a Witche's Brew Pot, and a very large "The Halloween Cauldron " game on a 23'' x 20" table. I designed and had this game drawn out within a couple of hours and now in the process of painting it. I hope to have it done by the weekend. Stay tuned for game pictures very soon.

New Clock Project!!!!!

I was given this clock yesterday when I picked up my other clock from repair. I have taken it apart, cleaned it, sanded it, primed it, and painted the inside black. Now for the fun part base coat then sketching it all out. It will be given a new movement and pendulum. I have to prep the face and back piece that goes behind the glass. This is of course going to be a HALLOWEEN Clock in all its glory.What a really fabulous piece this will be as an addition to any halloween decor. It is going to take some time but I have already accomplished quite a lot as I am really excited to see this come to life. I'm pondering adding a music box to it that plays something witchy or halloween, not sure how to do that but anything is possible. Going to check to see whats available! It may have to have some crows on the top!! Check back to see this piece evolve!!

Once upon a time I did have a costume shop. I sold costumes and also did rentals. The first picture is the headless horseman display. It really scared small kids! Next is the wall of masks. Next two are mannequins in costumes. Then the wicked witch next to the check out counter. I painted the hands to match her mask. I still have her and she is now part of my yearly halloween diplay. Then last is frankenstein strapped to a large tilted table and dracula looking on. Funny how little kids thought these were real!

The clock movement arrived, but the piece for the pendulum to connect to well its not there, after 16 days from ordering it and they can't even get it right.................I am sooooo mad. Back it goes.......

Well the new movement is on its way, it only took twelve days for it to be shipped. So when it gets here it will be tested and then I will finally list the halloween clock. Still working on the witch herb rack, treat bucket and many other pieces. Oh and its not even halloween and we have bats, real ones. Had them taken care of from the attic last summer and well there was one the other night on the spare bedroom floor still alive so he got scooped up an put outside. I just checked the attic and saw some hanging (creepy). The bat removal service will be back. We even put up a bat house but no bats in it yet!!! Off to paint..........

My name is Jackson and I lived on the streets until I was brave enough to cross the road and ended up in a home with two older brothers and we all get along great. He was once a very sick kitten and now look at him! He is very attached to Arthur, follows him around everywhere and he puts up with it. The sweet life!!

Merlin thought about painting then decided he would rather just chill......darn I thought I had a helper!! Here's a new piece in the works...... a Witch spice rack.......oh and that clock.....well I found a new movement and waiting for it to get here, ordered it wed. last week and it has yet to be shipped. When it gets here I will make sure it fits and works . I think I may list it with a buy it now and it may be somewhat expensive per the new piece and all the work into it but i think worth it to whom ever wins it. Also painting a very large treat bucket soooooo stay tuned.....If only Merlin had a magic wand...............

Here it is all together hanging up!!!!!!!!!! This is one very large clock!! This has to be serviced and I have to get packing material. There is glass covering the face and pendulum piece. This chimes on the hour the number of times that the time is and once on the half hour. Also makes the tic-tock sound. Enjoy the pictures!!!!!

Well finally done, just putting on the varnish then have to get it back together, attach the wood pieces, then get it to a clock person. Here are some pictures, but will be really cool when all together hanging up. Not sure about how I am going to list it, buy it now, list with reserve, or just list and see what happens. This was not an easy piece to paint and this clock is over twenty years old so it will never be repeated.. enjoy the pictures.........

Making some headway with this very large clock, I have the the two sides sketched out (not shown) not quite sure how I am going to finish the front, and I have to add something to the pendulum piece. Also shown are tops to the four piece wood canister set in progress. The round piece is the top to a two tiered piece almost done, and shelves of items I have purchased here and there. Thats just a fraction of items I have to paint. If only my 3 fur kids could paint...........Well I know what I will be doing this weekend.... There is going to be a large street rummage sale tomorrow hmmm should I look for more stuff to paint..............

Cats at Paws for Adoption

This mother cat was at our door over the winter and I already have 3 so we gave her shelter and food outside until paws could take her. Well she gave birth to 6 kittens and I then asked paws if they would take her to keep all safe and they did. She had her babies under a ramp that had to be taken apart and sad to say two had died. We got the others and her to paws. She is very friendly and affectionate. I do not know her age. Anyone that lives in the State College area of Pa. can look her up and her three kittens at Centre County Paws Pa. They also have a website if anyone wishes to donate. I rescued my orange tabby from the streets here (he was near death) , is now soooo happy and healthy, and just loves his two black brothers (Merlin and Arthur). The last two pictured have been adopted. I so hope the mommy gets a home!!!

How it all begins!!!

Two lamps, a mantel clock, another clock that may become a witches house, a wood 4 piece canister set with plastic inserts, and a wood seed starter set with lavendar and catnip included, also a pair of witch boots to hang on the hooks!!! This is how it all starts... I purchase the items from an antique store, sand them , then primer goes on. Now for the fun part, what to paint on these items?? Sometimes I sketch ideas out or just start sketching on the item itself and they evolve from there......Off to base paint them......

This is a large checkerboard game holder. This piece features the checkerboard. The three sides will have halloween images painted on them. The front is where the other wood pieces slide in and out. This will have chinese checkers, chess (I painted the pieces black and orange) mancala, tic tac toe (shown done) a halloween game and maybe backgammon. Three fur kids and not one can paint although Jackson paw painted with orange paint yesterday. I will post more pictures as I make progress........

I am still working on those lamps and will be putting the base coat on the large clock pictured in a previous post. I wanted to finish a few pieces I had started. This stand will list on ebay tonight. Take a peak and bid if you like it. I enjoyed the heat wave we had here today in Pennsylvania, even had the window up on the back door so my 3 fur kids could enjoy some fresh air. Also in the the works is a large round bowl, and a wine bottle box (holds 2 bottles).

What to paint next? Although I have many pieces in the works, some I will focus on and finish, others are waiting to be sketched out. I think I will start with the lamp bases, I usually do these last, then see what comes to mind...... The birdhouse piece is actually a candle holder and will come with glass holder and candle....... Here is the wood pedestal piece, could also be used to diplay a jack-o-lantern, although if its a real one I would place something between it and the wood piece so as not to damage the paint job. Here is the wood pedestal piece, I hope to have it finished by tonight . The tray is very large and will take some time, maybe it can be listed sun. night. The clock is a large pendulum wall piece that I only have primed and I will be taking it to have the workings cleaned,oiled, and to make sure it keeps time correctly, so this piece will be awhile. Eventually I will be having a blog give away that will of course be a Halloween piece. Enjoy the pictures.

Just wanted to take a moment and share whats new on my ebay. I've handpainted these two fun matching lamps and they will be sold together. Take a peak at my ebay offerings (theenchantedcauldron).

The tray in the front is up for bid also. In the works is a double sided large tray, one side sketched out the other side still blank. Also a large wood pedestal bowl that can also be used to display a jack-o-lantern. Until next time, hope everyone is staying warm.......
